When Are Climate Risks Business Material?

Climate change is a challenging topic for corporate leaders due to the potential business implications that are company-specific, uncertain and subjective. Today climate change is demanding more attention from business decision-makers in many sectors including Board of Directors, CFOs, Chief Risk Officers, and strategic planners, and now investors are demanding more transparency regarding corporate carbon footprints and climate risks. As a result, business leaders are committing to initiatives from science-based targets to carbon neutrality, and “best practices” to assess and manage climate risks.
